Call for proposals: UTS Gallery Student Writing Program

  • This event has concluded.

UTS Gallery is inviting proposals from current UTS students for short-form essays (500 words) responding to our 2017 exhibition program.

We are looking for insightful and innovative critical writing that addresses the themes of the four exhibitions on show at UTS Gallery in 2017. Proposals are requested after the opening of each exhibition, allowing time for the percolation of ideas. Visit the exhibition, reflect on your experience, and tell us how you’d like to respond. One proposal per exhibition will be selected and developed in consultation with UTS Gallery curatorial staff. The essays will be published on the UTS ART website. Students from all faculties are encouraged to apply: we want lots of diverse perspectives.

How to apply: Supply 2-3 sentences on which exhibition you’d like to write about and why, along with a one page writing sample. Email your application to Eleanor Zeichner, Assistant Curator:

Fees: A writer’s fee of $250 will be paid on publication.
