16 to 19 August
UTS ART has collaborated with UTS Science and MAAS to provide students with full day excursion exploring Science Week in Ultimo. By being split into three groups, large class sizes of up to 100 students will be accommodated for. The groups will move between the three venues on an easy walking circuit.
Students are to bring their morning tea and lunch. Some facilities for purchasing food and drink are available but there will be little time with so much to do!
UTS ART Science week proposed program itinerary:
9.30 Meet and split into groups at Goods Line near UTS Business school Chau Chak Wing Building
10 -11.15 UTS Gallery /UTS Science/ MAAS
20 mins – walk + 15mins morning tea
11.50 – 1.05 UTS Gallery /UTS Science/ MAAS
20 mins – walk + 20 mins lunch
1.45 – 3.00 UTS Gallery /UTS Science/ MAAS
Students will view the exhibition Over Many Horizons by artists and QUT research fellow Keith Armstrong followed by a hands on workshop where students are asked to consider the relationship between their environment, society and themselves.
Students will have free entry to the immersive exhibition Collider from the Science Museum, London.

Indigenous Literacy Day – 7th September
We are excited to collaborate with UTS Library and Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning to offer a full day program for Indigenous students/Indigenous cultural groups within your school.
- Indigenous art from UTS Art Collection tour and zine making workshops
- Treasure hunt using UTS Library Catalogue
- Tour of Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning at UTS
- Dance and didgeridoo workshop with Indigenous artist and musician Walangari
- Participation in the Great Book Swap
- Morning tea and lunch provided by Indigenous catering company, Kallico
A selection of Indigenous art from UTS Art Collection is on semi permanent display in UTS Tower. Tours and workshops on request.
Artist One on One
I Had To Do It Ella Barclay – 4 October to 25 November
Ella Barclay‘s solo exhibition I Had To Do It at UTS Gallery will provide an opportunity for students to have first hand access to an artist and the development of her practice. Students can partake in a 1.5hr tour and hands-on workshop or a lunchtime/after school Q&A session with the artist.
Our exhibition workshops are complimented by online resources.
