Meagan Pelham’s intricate drawings, paintings and performance works are concerned with romantic love. She often conveys this through depictions of birds in pairs, particularly owls, which she considers the most romantic of animals. Meagan calls these drawings her love owls.
Meagan’s practice spans painting, drawing and performance. She has exhibited widely, at Casula Powerhouse, SCA Galleries and Artbank, and undertaken major collaborations with Erth Visual and Physical Inc., Koskela Creative Studio, Red Room Poetry, Cicada Press at UNSW and with Australian fashion label Romance Was Born. Meagan collaborated with six fellow artists from Studio A on Bird Life Jungle Disco for UTS in 2019. Most recently she collaborated on Love owls and mermaids singing in the rainbow pop, a major mural project for Art Gallery of New South Wales for their Archie Plus program.
